Our College

Sri Annai Kamakshi Music and Fine Arts College was established in 2015 as an ambitious initiative of its founder, Chennai-based artist Thiru.S. Venkatachalapathy (Achalam), MFA. Our college is approved and affiliated with the Government of Tamil Nadu.

The Tamilnadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Music and Fine Arts University. The Mission of the college is to Train, Educate and Motivate. Our College is the First Private college for fine arts in Chennai.

Our Principal

Thiru.S. Venkatachalapathy (Achalam), MFA, is the founder, architect, and brain behind two unique institutions: Sri Annai Kamakshi Kalaikudam and Sri Annai Kamakshi Music and Fine Arts College. Achalam has a Masters in Fine Arts (Painting) from the Govt. College of Fine Arts, Chennai.

Achalam has participated in many individual and group shows. He has worked for many art and craft companies, through which he has exported his paintings to many foreign countries. He is a living encyclopedia, promoting the beauty and pride of fine art painting to the whole world.



Sri Annai Kamakshi Music and Fine Arts College has strong links with the art community. The college runs a renowned national and international programme of visiting artists, exhibitions, public events and partnership activities. The college is dedicated to promoting, popularizing, and perpetuating the Indian traditional gurukula art forms of Bharathanatyam and south Indian classical music—veena, flute, and violin—along with painting and sculpture in their pristine purity.
